Anyone have a preference in Hydroponic nutrients?
I was looking at the Humboldt Grow for my lettuce but am open to other brands if someone has some experience. |

I always got the impression that all of the hydro products were ridiculously marked up in price due to their most common users cultivating a product with a very high profit margin.
They certainly are marketed that way. Liquid products are even more ridiculous. My mom's friend Rich was an Ag Chemist for Martin Marietta and marketed a liquid houseplant food concentrate. I think he said something like a 7000% mark up on the raw material. Dirt lettuce gets a 10-10-10 but you'll need something more complete and micro's. Lettuce enjoys foliar feeding as well. |

This seems to be recommended.

| Always buy powder mixes. If you buy liquid products for Hydro you are paying a lot for shipping(the store will pass the charge onto the customer)....which kills the deal. You can get powder products for much cheaper. Make sure the powder contains trace elements. |
