I live in North Florida so hopefully I can plant a bit earlier than most.  Planting veggies in our flower beds in the front yard and plan on building some planters for the side of the house.

So far I have planted:

~ 250 onion bulbs (red and yellow)
Shallots
2 varieties of spinach
1 type of carrots

So far the onions are coming up nicely as is the spinach.

I am going to plant more onions (scallions) and garlic soon.  I plan on planting ginger roots, potatoes, sugar snaps, lima beans, peppers of various kinds, a few tomatoes, a flat of strawberries, maybe a few more I have missed.  Hopefully post some pics soon.

I want to build some raised planters down the side of my house, what should I build them out of?  I plan on use pressure treated 4X4s to support them up about 2-3 feet, but I am leary of using PT to build the box out of due to the chemicals.  I would like to do it well, but as low cast as possible.  Out of work for another month or two, so cash is a bit tight.
