| I have some water stored and would like to get some different types of juices for varity. Wanting to know if there is a difference between getting juices in a big can vs juices that come in the clear plastic bottle? I know light is not good for things being stored, but does that affect juices as well? It is much easier to find plastic containers that would be at least resealable vs cans that once you open, are open and harder to find. Help please. |

I have been looking into this a bit myself, I think the canned juice stores longer than plastic.
All you need to do is have a plastic re-sealable container handy to pour the juice into once you open the can. Once opened, you will need to drink it rather quickly anyway. I wonder if the boxed juices have a longer shelf life. I going to check that out next time I go to the store. I think Tang probably has a fairly good shelf-life, but it may not be as tasty as I remember. |

Boxed products seem to have a shelflife somewhere between cans and plastics. We have some canned soups labeled good for atleast a year. The same product in boxes is only good for 6 months. Same seems to go for canned tuna versus plastic bagged tuna. I think I would worry about the plastic lid on a juice bottle maintaining its seal after a year. How about juice in glass bottles? (Do they still make these?) |
