This year I planted some White Granix and some Walla Walla onions. What is supposed to be the difference? I planted them late (24th of April). They both looked great for a long time. The Walla's still look and taste great but the Granix seem to be dying back. It isn't time for them to be picked yet is it. I have been using the Wallas' in salads as they are very mild. I pulled a few bulbs from the Granix and they are very small. Is one a "long day" vs "short day"? Also, how long can I leave them in the ground after they die back before they rot? |
| if they are wala walla sweets, when the tops lay down, pick them and top them, leave the onions an the ground with the tops over them ( to keep the sun from burning them) leave for about three days to dry then put them in a cool dry place, we plant walla walla sweets in september and they are ready by fathers day, great onions |
