| Anyone happen to know what the current going rate for large and small ALS smoke happen to be ? |
|
Not sure how robust but Sport Smoke (targeted at Airsoft) has a decent reputation. Prices are very reasonable; a dozen for around $150 (plus the HAZMAT shipping fee). I just don't know how durable they are...
Tactical Smoke Grenade (TSG) Of course, it has to have "tactical" for marketing purposes
Anybody have any experience with these? ROCK6 |

Anybody have any experience with these? ROCK6 I bought a few to mess around with. They seem to work pretty well. My concern was also about durability after getting banged around. Or possibly getting wet. Thought I might try sealing a couple and see how they do. |

I had a shit ton of the ALS.........got rid of mine........I heard as they get older the fuses go bad
Have played with the enola gay ones, they put out a good amount of smoke and are about the size of the small ALS........if you toss one in a house or a room your going to give someone a bad day lol. |

Can someone run through scenarios of use? I just can't seem to justify it as an added item to stock up on. Signaling and creating a screen. For solo use or even a small patrol group, these just aid in breaking contract; if the threat can't see you or know if you're in position or bugging out, these just aid in getting a better break in contact. They can also be used to mask or cover a flanking or maneuvering team...it sounds very "airsoft" like, but if you train with them, they do have value. If patrolling your properly, popping smoke is a good signal for activating the QRF (if you have one). Not an essential, just another tool that fits a specific niche if you train to use them. ROCK6 |

Probably wouldn't be bad to aid in breaking contact with a bunch of street rabble blocking the road. Pop smoke and they might think gas n may clear long enough for you to drive thru.
We used to use it for spook trails too. Spooky at night with some lights flashing thru it. Good old days indeed when you could buy the real deal cheap. |

I use the enola gaye eg18x, a cap from a toy cap gun, some black match or visco, and a spent m18 body/fuse (luckily I saved my used ones from back in the day) to make a reload that functions pretty close.

Can anyone translate. All I read was some good descriptions of smoke bombs vs smoke grenades and fuse vs fuze..then some bla bla bla...and no definitive answer. If they were "illegal" for civilian possession...would they not just say it in an easy to understand way? |

Suprised the cap has enough spark to light the visco. |

Suprised the cap has enough spark to light the visco. Thank you! Make fresh cut with razorblade. Then dip in NC laquer and then 4f black powder. Make sure it is contacting the inside of the cap. Or use some blackmatch at end of visco to take the spark from cap. I experimented with small pistol primers and 209 primers. But the caps work better with less noise and less pressure. I found a brand that fits exactly in the fuze assembly. |

Basically a few years back they cracked down on selling devices to civilians that use a fuze, like an m201a1. That's about it. |
