| I am looking to upgrade my current BOB and have looked hard at the Eberlstock packs. One of my wants for this new pack is the ability to conceal a 7.5in sbr, (30rd mag and aimpoint) in the pack without an external scabbard. Optimum setup would be a pocket that is separate from the main compartment for easy access. I would like for the pack to be in the 3500 cu in range. Any recommendations? |

Eberlestock's Terminator has a trap door pocket for SBR-sized rifles. The pocket is positioned against the frame, so its close to your back. You can also utilize their rifle scabbard if you needed to carry a longer, scoped rifle. I have no first hand experience with this pack., but I'm pretty sure your SBR would fit in the pocket.

I have a f3f which I believe would hold a SBR. I'll unload it tomorrow and try to fit a rifle. Its a great pack but fairly heavy for its capacity compared to hiking packs. You're not going to blow it out though like I did with my last osprey.
ETA: I didn't note your capacity requirements. The f3f is much smaller. You are describing a quite large pack. |

since you are in Georgia I would recommend you run up to EMGear. they have most of the Eberlestock packs in stock and last time I was in there they had several from last year on clearance. I have the Warhammer.
it's up off exit 12 on 400, not sure where you are though |

Love my Eberlestock Destroyer. a little bigger than your 3500cu in mark (4,210cu in), and has a lot of compartments that could fit your needs. Check out the video on their website, it sold me on the pack. Towards the end of the video he explains how the interior back wall pocket can discreetly carry your SBR even in a weapon carrier. I'm a huge fan of this bag I LOVE my Destroyer as well, I have a 14.5 pinned with optics and full chest rig and mags and bare essentials in one and it is amazing and really doesn't look like a bag that is carrying a rifle. Out here it just looks like another backpacker almost everywhere I go with it. It was an awesome purchase. |
