Hello all,
I'm looking to buy about 2000W of quality solar panels with micro controllers to get my feet wet. I plan to install the panels myself. Any recommendations of the quality panels and a reasonably priced source? For reference I've been looking at Costco's Grape Solar deals. In my experience Costco generally offers the best (on most items) combination of quality/price. Thanks for your help. |

Kyocera, Sanyo, Sharp, SolarWorld (biggest US maker,) Canadian Solar are all top brands.
http://www.ecodirect.com/Solar-Panels-s/3.htm Generally, you just need to do some reasearch, crunch the numbers and whittle down your choices. Watts per $ is how people view things when it comes to price. With 2000 watts, you should be looking at a MPPT controller: Morningstar, Blue Sky, Xantrex, Rogue, Midnight Solar and Outback FM make some of the better MPPT digital controllers and while they're more money than the budget type PWM, they're more efficient with larger loads. Any recommendations of the quality panels and a reasonably priced source? 2000W is a pretty big system to start with if doing all the installation yourself, especially if it's off grid. What's your budget for the entire system? |
