wanted to pass along a holiday deal that was passed along to me
Walmart has the SOG Fasthawk on sale for $20 SOG Fasthawk as far as I can tell from their web site this deal is only available in stores I'll have to check my reciept to see if the item number matches the on-line item number Happy Shopping |
|
I picked mine up last weekend After the thread in GD, I figure most folks on arfcom have one by now
It's a really light and handy made little hawk. I'm probably going to use mine backpacking, as it only weighs a pound it's worth it to have to cut up fire wood, or any other things that may need chopping. May even use it for throwing, just for shits and giggles
Sure it's made in china, but it is cheap, built pretty well, and from what I can tell so far holds a damn good edge |

Link to the Midway deal |
| Looks like the WalMart in Trussville, AL got this SOG Machete instead for $20. |
|
Local Walmart had the machete and the axe for $20 each, I grabbed the machete to go with my $30 Plano gun cases. |

Were these tomahawks in the Sporting good area? Stopped by and visited with the guys at the gun counter and they had never heard of them. No I just saw them at a Walmart near me. They are on the Cheesy Christmas gifts isle. You know, the isle with the Brittany Spears, Elizabeth Taylor "smell like me" perfume gift sets. Appears to be a Chinese made tomahawk & machete. |
| Thanks Wshbrnger, I finally did. The local Walmart didn't have them, but a nearby Super Walmart had lots of them. I actually found them in 2 different places, none on the chessy gift isle, but some in a middle of the isle tool/knife display, and some closer to hunting. Seems like different stores may display them in different areas. Could see the hawks, Bear knives and machetes ending up on a sale table after Christmas. By the way, what's the big deal with the Plano cases, saw some for $39, are these special? |

They were $30 on sale, but $39 is still a hell of a deal. They have the pick and pluck foam, and they lock, and are water resistant. They are only 36" long, so if you have a AR Carbine, they are perfect |

Yes, they are made in China, but for the price of a American made hawk, I could buy a whole case of the SOG ones. I ain't paying big $$$ for a American made hawk and use the hell out of it. Point is if I wanna beat the hell out of one I'd use a SOG one. I agree with you, I am just surprised how many people are forgiving of this ChinaMart item because it is stamped SOG, and not so much other stuff made there. |
