After looking for a flashlight, I am not looking for a LED Lantern.

This will mainly be used for car camping / Tent use and emergency use in the home.

I don't need anything super expensive, but I am a little leery of the cheap $10-$15 walmart ones.

Looking for either a C or D battery sized lantern.

I was looking at these two...

Number 1

Number 2

What other ones should I be looking at?

http://www.modernoutpost.com/shop/218-glorb-xb-led-lantern.html seems to be interesting and runs off AA's.

Find yourself a rayovac sportsman extreme lantern. China mart, target, lowes carry them. 300 lumens on high with a pleasant white light. They cost between $20 and $28 depending on where you find them.

This is smaller than the Ray-O-Vac above, and may be smaller than what you're looking for, but some of us, myself included, really like this:
Meijer.com - Coleman 3AA High Tech LED Mini Lantern

Their shipping charges were very reasonable, at least as of a few months ago. It has adjustable intensity.

This is the best option. Search my thread on them for more info.

I use one of these in the tent.  It is built well and compact.

While for stationary use I like Goalzero's Lamp but use a Coleman LED lantern for mobile stuff.  And call me old fashion but nothing has replaced the Coleman lantern for general camp area light.

I got mine at Wal Mart on line. Shipping for me  was free.
If it is not, you may be able to do a store pick up. Price was about the same.
Coleman High Tech Mini Lantern:
Sorry! They only carry this on line.

PS I too like Gas Lantern for real light

I have this. Neat little setup. Very bright. Haven't had to really use it though.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

My trip got postponed due to a large forest fire, so I have a little more time to decide on one.  I am going to go check out REI, Walmart and Sportsmans Warehouse and see what I like.

Just one last thing: Coleman Micropacker LED Lantern
Only bring this up because it is a little smaller(for BOB) then the other Coleman
Because of that batterys do not last as long, but much brighter.
Looking at it myself, Just around $12.00.
One my store had was not a Coleman, it was some off brand.
Same price not sure why?

Just a thought!

EDITED: Sorry it was a Coleman. Looked at two different lights!

I picked up this one last week at Wal-Mart for $20. I used it a little over Memorial Day Weekend and it worked great. I picked it up to use for camping and inside the house if we lose power. The light output is good but the battery life that's listed could be better. For the cost though I thought it wasn't a bad deal.
