Collected one of these from Lowes the other day - I walk the dog each morning and night and it is getting dark outside!!

For about $30 it certainly kicks out a lot more light than my SureFire LED Flashlights, obviously the reflector is significantly larger.  Rated at 114 lumans for 11 hours.

I like it!

Loewes had them @ $15 for Fathers Day, I bought three of them.
They're great if you already have pouches and gear that fit Maglites.
Much better construction than the Nite-eyze upgrade too.

Make sure to use quality batteries, I've lost several AA maglites to battery leakage.  AA's seem to be the worst offenders with regard to leaking.

Ive been very pleased with my AA model.

Maglite also has a new model out Ive never seen looks kinda like a short surefire (scout) also has new modes (have only seen it at the depot).

If you like that pick up a three cell.

Bought a couple of both when on sale last Christmas.

I keep a 3 cell in the truck.  Doubles as an impact weapon if necessary.  I have maybe a dozen Surefires in various bags etc. but there's just something about a big-ass Maglite D cell light that's comforting.

The LED Maglites have been discussed here several times.  I've probably got five or six of 'em all told (2D, 3D), and have been very happy with all of them.  Battery life is outstanding, and I actually prefer the light quality over incandescent/xenon/whatever.  Keep you eye out for the sales at Lowe's... seems they regularly go on sale for $12-15.

Been walking morning and night with this, very pleased.  Comfortable, just have to watch out to not blind the dog or myself.
