I'm putting together a BoB / emergency pack, I know I need one here in earthquake country. I just had the thought that I'd like to print out some good basic survival info to stick in there, things like how to purify water, some basic first aid, HAM radio repeater stations, etc. Are there any good sites for finding a good compiled document?

FWIW right now I have a camelbak BFM, planning on buying a water purifier, maybe a Katadyn. Right now it just has a USP .45 and some ammo and a radio.

+1 SAS Survival Guide.

I don't really see the point of carrying a survival guide in your BOB. I don't know what the purpose of your BOB is, but mine is basically a 3-5 day pack. The survival guide is something you should know and have perfected! I wouldn't want to be starving to death while I'm trying to figure out how to setup my snare. The concepts aren't hard to remember if you've tried them before.

There's a link to a pdf of the US Army Survival Guide on the front page of this website at the bottom. The SAS Survival Guide is a good book to have too.

Have fun wiping out some bandwidth - I know I did - the Nat Geo EMP video is pretty good - http://modernsurvivalonline.com/survival-database-downloads/
