With hurricane season about to start, I'm going over all my gear to make sure everything is in order before the first hurricane comes (I live in South Florida).  My question is what do yall have planned for your pets, specifically dogs.  I have 2 labs and I'm not going anywhere without them.  What kinds of things have yall added to your BOBs for your pets, and also what kinds of things do you keep handy for riding out the storm?  I'm just trying to cover all my bases in advance.  Thanks!

Dan

PS Here they are...

Beautiful Dogs, we have a yellow and chocolate (brother and sister).
We keep dog food, chew bones and bottled water for them if we have to didi. Needless to say we also have spare water and food bowls for all 5 dogs. I made some leashes fron heavy anchor rope in case something happens to their leashes.

We just have one dog - a beagle. Her BO gear is a leash and kibble. We keep her kibble in a plastic container that can be grabbed on the way out the door. She does not need a food bowl. She's a dog, for Pete's sake. She can drink the same water we do.

We do have several foldable plastic water dishes in the car for her. One of them is called - Outward Hound. In a pinch we can make do with something if we did not have a water bowl for her.

Get some dog bags so they can carry some of their own gear.

Our two dobermans have their own backpacks complete with food and water.  They are both trained to open their mouths and let us pour water into their mouths so no need for a bowl if they need our water, but they scrounge pretty good from puddles, lakes, rivers, streams, etc.

They go backpacking with us all the time, and do just fine... and do a good job at harvesting their own rabbits, squirrels, and birds.

Thanks for the information and compliment about my dogs.  I planned on food and water (and bowls) but I just wasn't sure if there was anything else that I hadn't thought of.  Now I just need to teach them how to shoot an AR-15 and I'll be all set.

You could consider extra flea/tick, heartworm meds, etc.
