Those of you with camelbacks or anyother hydration pack, Do you keep it filled up and ready to go? And if you put it in your vehicle what do you do to keep it from freezing?

No. Unless you keep it in a freezer, it will eventually get moldy on you.

I keep mine dried out and clean. Doesn't take me but a minute or so to fill it up. If I had to leave RIGHT NOW it would go in the truck right next to the on-hand portable water containers, to be filled when I get a chance.

Dry and clean.

However I have carelessly left water in gets mildew smell within 2-4 weeks. At which point a diluted bleach wash is a good idea.

I typically leave water in mine but that water has been ran through our Berkey. I think that may keep it, or at least postpone, it from getting up and growing any legs and walking around.

I did notice that when I used it from the tap it would get slick and kind of slimy after a couple days, not good eats.

Just my humble opinion, which appears to differ from some, but if you use high quality water and keep your bladder clean then the length of time it can stay filled and drinkable extends a little.

Back to the question on freezing, not a huge issue in ATL, but if the bag is well insulated it may take a while but I'm not sure if it would hurt anything if it did freeze.

Same here. Whenever I use it I drain it (if there is any water left in it) and hang it on the shower rod with an empty water bottle in it to keep the plastic from sticking together, allowing it to air dry a little faster/better. Also remove the bite valve so the tube can drain better. So far it's worked.

I use mine daily so I don't worry about growing any funk.
