Ran across this thanks to Aimless:
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/us-mil-spec-plus-polypropylene-set.aspx?a=386071 It's $40, but $30 with a coupon shipped as I"m a club member. I was hoping to get some input from those who may've used this system. Thanks in advance guys! |

It's been replaced on active duty by a polar-fleece 'bear suit'... |

Yes, It is good stuff, I have used it for several years. $30 for all that is a fair price if USA made Being from SG I doupt it is US made. I cannot comment on any import versions. US made holds up well over time but
DO NOT PUT IN DRYER!!! Air dry on hangers. FYI the new layer system works good to, but costs more. |

+1 on the air drying as it will shrink. An XL becomes a large rather quickly.
It's not bad for sitting around in cold temps (like in a tree stand) or moving during really cold temps (below freezing). But for anything above about 40 degrees and you are moving it over heats you. But as others have said, it's a good base layer during really cold weather. But as I was looking at that page, you can't mix and match bottoms and tops...make sure you check the sizing before you buy. The pants can get bulky really quickly on larger sizes |

I bought it and returned it. I guess it could be a fair for $30. The elastic and everything felt cheap but I imagine it could keep you warm. The eye opening on the balaclava was too narrow for me. The socks...don't know why but the seems run right in the middle on top and on the bottom. Can't imagine that being comfortable.

i got ther newer layer II Grid fleece and it is comfortable and warm; I got out of the Army before i could get it, but i was able to get the black Fleece clothing (not the Ninja Suit undies though). Is all good kit, no complaints about it; the brown polys were good also, but wore the jacket more than i did the pants anyways. I was not going to get the whole shebang, because i didn't live in a place that gets cold enough (FL), but after the cold snap here a couple of weeks ago, i am reconsidering.

I got a set of these also. The top fits true to size but the bottoms (Kenyon brand) are a little shorter than normal. Not too big a deal, I just pull my socks midway up to my calf. Still a good deal for a top and bottom set. |
