In a situation where one would have to carry a battle load for several days, which type of gear system would you choose and why? Would love to hear from those who have used one or both in the field.
MOLLE PROS: Highly versatile platform based on configuration possibilities, plentiful sources and manufacturers. CONS: Expensive ALICE PROS: Dirt cheap! Somewhat plentiful (until supplies run out) but limited in types. CONS: Less versatile configurations. From some opinions I've heard so far, the weight distribution on the hips makes ALICE still a good choice for longer periods of time. Maybe not super sexy high speed low drag like MOLLE, but still solid. |
