Do you carry with the bag on your strong or supprot side??  I see adv/disadv to both.
-Strong side allows quick natural access to weapon.  However, can it get bunged up and interfere with your range of motion on your strong side??
-Support side requires weapon transition or cross draw, but keeps the bulk of the pack away from your strong side and keeps it free.

I'm guessing there might be a lot of YMMV type answers, but I welcome any and all.

Enquiring minds want to know.

I carry mine on the strong side.  I don't think it would make a huge difference for me as I almost never have my CCW Weapon in the bag as I always carry my pistol in a holster.  But, if I were to have the pistol in there strong side would be a big plus.

Good question.  I was wondering about this too.  I'd be nice to have it strong side for CCW, but I'd want it weak side if I was using it to hold mags for use with a rifle.

I carry mine on the strong side.  The bag usually ends up at my 4:00, and leaves me free to use both hands easily.

I do weak side. I am not a big fan of cross draw, but I am also not a big fan of having the bag flopping around on strong side after the draw. You laid out the plusses and minuses aptly, and it is a YMMV situation.

When drawing I unzip with weak hand while pushing the bag towards strong side, then draw with strong hand. I found the unzipping motion with strong hand followed by attempting to draw - without stabilizing the bag with weak hand, because the bag is not in position for it - did not work well for me. I guess others can do it... But I'm putting two hands on the bag anyway - one to unzip, position, and stabilize the bag, the other to draw.

Personally, I only carry in the bag when wearing clothing not conducive to CCW.  Vastly prefer to carry it on my person. I still carry the bag for reloads, FAK, other stuff, though.

Weak side.....  if CC I use my weak hand to unzip and hold the bag while my strong hand draws the weapon.  Also, I carry a rifle often enough I dont want the bag dangling on the same side I carry the rifle on.

I love the bag, and carry it
everyday to work or play...

Thanks all for the replies.  Gives me something to think about.  I'm not sure I'm any closer to deciding one way or another though

Mine's a tactical diaper exchange kit. I wear it strong-side so I have fast access to the CCW and sippy cup while holding a small boy's hand on the weak side.

BTW, the M4 shorty magazine pouches they sell are the perfect size for travel packs of tissues.

I carry mine on the support side. (I am right handed and bought the one you wear on the left side.) I did this because most of the time I wear my gun on my rightside when carrying. Also, I thought I might use the bag for active shooter kit (I am LEO) and I thought the bag slung on my left side would be easier to manage and load out of while the rifle is in my right hand.

w12x40 I would like to see the diaper bag set up if you got photos. I have used it for that a few times also.

I'll take a few when I get home.

Strong side.  Carrying it on the weak side would cause problems opening the zipper on the CCW compartment quickly.

I carry mine on my strong side.  The fabric is stiff enough that I can leave the CCW compartment unzipped if desired, yet will not show the contents.  The bag is at a natural height to rest your arm if you need to without looking awkward; you could even wrap your hand around the grips without showing any threat or intent.

Pictures of my tactical diaper exchange kit. I wear it strong-side.

Note the tissues, cup and zipper for the CCW pouch all close together. Two we use all the time, the third I hope we never use. The magazine pouches hold a Surefire G2 and a Leatherman.

Gotta keep the hand sanitizer and chapstick handy. Also, a Benchmade Griptilian.

The strap extension is where I keep the digital camera and spare batteries. That's a Springfield XD Subcompact 9mm with two spare mags. It will hold a full-sized Glock and reloads, too.

The nitty-gritty of the diaper exchange, plus snacks. The little pouch has some paracord and a compass in it. There's a grimlock hanging off the cup pouch for hanging little hats and gloves.

Crayons, zip-ties, notebook and lots of zip-loc bags.

This.

Mine naturally falls in around 4:00 - 5:00. Sometimes I push it all the way behind my back if I want it out of the way.

Strong side but for a different reason:
My go to gun is more than likely a Marlin in 357 so the Jumbo serves as a modern possibles bag.

Carrying it over my weak shoulder allows me to bring the carbine up without the strap getting in the way.

Why do you use IWB carry instead of the pouch?

I don't always take the Versipack on me and even when I do I may leave it in the car or otherwise get separated from it. The pistol however stays on me.

My Versipack has mostly FA and comfort items, food, extra ammo mags and things like a knife, whistle, extra cash, etc.

Weak side, so I have access to my weapon where it's supposed to be: on my hip.

I can't imagine purposely putting myself in a place so dangerous that I had to keep my weapon in immediate grasp from a bag. Bags get forgotten and left behind, and they are the first thing that gets taken from you if you are robbed at gunpoint.

Strong side because I can casually place my hand on the butt of the weapon in situations (i.e. dark parking lots, garages).
