So I got my jumbo yesterday.

I love it. I showed it to a co-worker and he said "you'll never wear this out. You'll lose it, it'll be stolen, or you'll die before it has any problems."

Basically, I'm saying that the maxpedition gear is rock solid.

One problem. You order a bag, and what you "feel" that you need for it will cost you as much as the bag. On my fat boy, I need the pistol "holster" the mag holders, an external flashlight holder and "pocket" holder to give me external access to my knife.  This equates to $80.00 or so, so understand that if you want the best, you had better be willing to come out of pocket for it. Max bags are indestructable and awesome. I am not sorry I bought it. I just wish I knew that it was going to cost $180 to make it what I wanted it to be.

After all my bitching, I'm still happy, and this bag is AWESOME!

I had to chime in on my love for the Maxpedition products. I have a S-type Jumbo Versipack that I carry every day. This is really well made and very durable merchandise. I also have a thermite that I picked up during a sale at LA Police Gear. I try to buy during sales and promotions to help defray costs, but no matter how much  I spend I am always very happy with the Maxpedition line.

Awesome products.

I have 2 of thier packs, and a S-type Jumbo.

I have a Pigmy Falcon II that I literally use every day, and have for the last 4 years.

The ONLY quirk, is that they are not actually made in the USA.

I've had more people ask me about my Maxpedition Versipack Jumbo than any other piece of gear I've ever had. What can I say, it's badass.

I EDC maxpedition too. The just work and they take a beating.

...and I too accessorize the heck outta my bags/packs.
My 3 favorite add-ons for Maxpedition is the Volta, Rollypoly(MM), and the 10x4 Insulated Bottle Carrier (I'm a Nalgene guy)

So you buy Chinese?

Nobody beats the quality of Maxpedition for the money in my opinion, they are a best bang for the buck option. Can you spend more money on a US made product that will be as good? Mercworx or Kifaru? Sure. Why? You're talking easily 25-50% more for no real advantage in performance.

Made in USA doesn't automatically mean better anymore and hasn't for quite some time. It's funny that the guys usually typing this "buy American" are doing so on an "inferior" Chinese made keyboard and viewing it on a Chinese made monitor- regardless of what companies label is on it....... If it's important to you to support American companies spend the extra money but quality has nothing to do with where a pack is made these days.

I've gotta say that I have 4 maxpedition bags that I use on a regular basis and they rock. The Jumbo S-type is a fantastic bag. I use that for my "Bail out" or  "Active shooter" bag And can't complain one bit. It holds 4 to 6 30 round AR Mags comfortably as well as my Surfire, a small pair of Binos, extra radio battery, and a range finder. I even have a small cache of maintanence gear (firing pin, breakfree, ect.) I work a plain clothes detail in a large city and as far as working in a dence urban enviroment where we have to move quick you cant beat it. I even have the nalgene pouch set up to hold my water bottle that dubles as a field trauma kit (items set up inside the bottle). All said and done it's light enough to work with for several hours on or in a perimmiter without support. 1 thing I would change would be the interior compartment flap and drawstring. Cut that out. It just hinders the deployment of the Mags. Just my 2 cents.
