Ok, bug out or bug in, or just pretty yummy.

I was at the store last night and found these boxes of lipton soups.

Soup Packets

Now they are packets (4 to a box for 1.40) that make a cup of soup.  60-90 calories per cup (packet).

They taste fairly yummy.

Microwave, stove, or any method to heat water.  I bought a ton of them for the car, GHB, and Daily Carry laptop bag.  Really takes the edge off the hunger.

ETA: Flavors: they only show 3 options on the site, but there are lots.  I have "extra noodle chicken noodle" and "garden veg" etc...

A few places I used to work would provide these for the employees, along with hot chocolate, tea and coffee. Some days when I had nothing else for lunch, I was really grateful for those hot soups. I highly recommend them as part of a BoB/GHB or anywhere.

Now I'm hungry...

The other advantage once you get to where BOB was taking you:  They were called soup lines for a reason, the most bang for the buck to stretch food.  They tend to be a little high in salt but can make a great base for a survival soup.

Also, REI had some little packs of cream of potato for about a bucka piece.  A little pricier but they were good.  The store near me does not have them anymore though.

Been sipping on these for a few days now. Made one with double water by mistake so it was fairly weak tom soup.  Despite the weak flavor it was still drinkable.  I know I get tired of water flavored water after a while, so this might work in it's own way for warm water (cold camp).

We also picked up packaged pastas that are cooked and ready in a bag.  Uncle Ben's rice ready to roll in packages.  Zatarans in packets that are pre-cooked.  Tuna and Spam in foil packets.

Aside from the salt (present in any canned or easy to cook food) I can toss together an MRE that I ENJOY eating.

Shelf-life averages a year to 4 years depending on product, and so far, everything can be eaten cold.
