So I've hit my goal to get 3 months of food/water down which was easy enough to aquire locally and cheaply. However, I refuse to pay 3-4 dollars for a single roll of 3"x3' sterile gauze which seems to be the norm around the stores here.

I'm not looking for anything exotic at the moment, just looking to beef up my basics - gauze, trauma pads, splints, iodine, etc without paying ridiculous retail prices. Anyone know some online places I can check out?

I have been happy with this for what it is (made in china). Its packed in a nice vacuum packed package and being S rolled allows for easy use and help keep dirty fingers off the gauze while using it.

Hope this helps

This looks like good stuff.

I've also found that a lot of grocery stores like Kroger and Meijer carries Kendall Kerlix rolls at about $2-$3.  Awesome stuff.  Use it to wrap or pack a wound.  I think they're around 5"x4yds.  Super loose pure cotton and high absorbancy.  I have been buying up shit tons of medical stuff recently and getting everything locally to start.

-Kerlix
-Surgipads
-Sports and cloth tapes
-3 layer pads
-Shears
-J&J rolled gauze in various sizes (5 packs)
-Small gauze pads
-Glucose tabs
-Irrigation syringe
-12"x12" battle dressing
-Ice packs
-Iodine
-Hydrogen Peroxide
-Pain relievers and pain killers (including some 72 hour fentanyl patches)
-Full field surgical kit packed in unbreakable wash basin missing only IV bags/caths and lidocaine
-50 pair of powderless vinyl gloves
-A bunch of other various things

This stuff did not cost much at all.  I have a ton of this stuff and probably a total of $100-$150 in all of it.

I still need to get the stuff off the internet like CTACs, Quik Clot, and Izzy's.  When I get home, I'll try to get some pics of my full inventory and post them.  Just keep your eye out for good deals and buy in bulk.

That's actually where I was planning on getting all of my "off of the internet" medical supplies.

Moore Medical has a LOT of gear and at very good prices.  Their shipping time is pretty good also. I would ggogle them for their web address.

To the OP, do you have some variety of dollar store nearby?  You can often find band aids, gauze and tape there at greatly reduced prices.  As long as the packages are not damaged, they should still be sterile.  I've had good luck getting things through Dixie EMS, too.  I hope this helps.

Make it a point to pop into the dollar store every once in a while.
$20 will go a long way there...

I just stock up at the local hospital. My wife is accident prone. Every time we go to the emergency room, I raid the cabinets. As much as I am paying for her visits, I figure that it is worth a couple rolls of tape and some bandages.

Umm...I understand your point about hospitals ripping you off but you are aware that this is theft right?  If your insurance company (or you) are not getting billed for it, you are stealing that stuff.  Depending on what you are taking, if it adds up, it could also classify as grand-theft.

Anyone have a good source for Israeli Bandages?  I see Chinook has them for $5.95.  Anyone ever put together a group buy on medical supplies?
