| I was screwing around with my new Dragonfly and the wire that holds the wick under the burner broke off.Do these stoves work without the wick in place or do I need to find some bailing wire and reattach it? |

It will work without the primer wick in place. Generally the primer wick gets a small amount of fuel placed on it. Then the wick is lit and the stove is allowed to warm to help vaporize the gas. You can lose the priming wick and just place a small splash of fuel in the concave portion on top of the stove. If you light the fuel on top then carefully turn the flame adjuster on and off it will spew liquid gas out that will catch fire and burn near the flame port. You have to do it a couple times but it will help vaporize the gas until the stove comes up to temp. This is harder to do in the wind but the windscreen helps. Be careful not to go full-on with the flame adjuster or you'll lose your eyebrows. |
