I have a PUR pitcher water filter in the fridge. Says it filters 98% of lead, chlorine etc and 99% of microbal cysts(giardia/crptospordium). In a SHTF, using outdoor water from a pond/other standing water, assuming i pre-filter the larger particles(leaves, sand, assorted muck). Would this water be clean enough to drink?

I would prefilter then rolling boil for 5+ minutes then run it through the PUR.

I would look for other water than stagnant water though.

And preferably I would use stored water for cooking/cleaning before any questionable sources.
