This isn't so much survival related although I think I'd get the best responses from this forum.

I'm looking for a portable type gass grill which will mostly be used for tailgating.  Therefore, assembly, takedown, and clean up must be fairly easy.  I'd prefer the type of grill that doesn't allow drip down into the main unit (for example, the way a Foreman Grill works).  I feel that the open grated grills are just way to messy to clean as opposed to wiping down a few panels.

Anyway... I'd love to hear your suggestions.

That is actually one of my top contenders right now.  Do you own one of these?

Actually, I just read it has open flames.  Dang!  I'm trying to stay as need and drippless as possible as I'll be transporting all this crap INSIDE my car.

A few years ago, I bought one of those crappy little table top black sheet metal propane grills that I think I paid $20.00 for. It's self contained, so the grease doesn't drip out, and it uses lava rock just over the flame (most of the newer ones have a sheet metal barrier over the flame).

As cheap as this thing is, I've used it for tailgaiting at many a game, and numerous times at the hunting camp. It works well, and if it craps out, I've gotten more than my money's worth out of it.

Sometimes expensive just isn't the way to go, sometimes it is. I conservatively figure that I'm at less than $1.00 per use right now, and this thing shows no sign of crapping out yet.

$20.00 well spent, if you ask me...

I dunno why it wouldn't be considered survival related.....hile
Oh, yeah.  Coleman stoves are cheap, cheap, cheap (sometimes free) on fun places like Craigslist.

With inflation, my $0.05.

I went ahead and ordered the Grill2Go Advantage.  I originally didn't want the open flame design but the overall design of this Grill seems to make ti a pretty nice choice.  It's felxibility and portability, and ease of use makes it a a good choice.  I've tried the similar version (non open flame) and really enjoyed it, so wi'll just have to see and I'll be sure to do a full range report on 12/2 after the Dolphins Bills Game.
