What does everyone use for cold weather gear?  I do a lot of ice fishing in Maine, and it's taken me a long time to hone exactly what I wear on a typical day on the ice.  For starters, the weather varies (40F to -20F).  I needed gear that was layered.  I've basically adopted the ECWCS concept used by the military.

For starters I wear under armor cold gear next to the skin.  I then wear a fleece pull over with a fleece zip up polartec jacket on top of that.  I wear BDU pants.  I have an outer shell (pants and jacket) consisting of mil spec Gore Tex.  I wear liner socks and a heavy pair of wool socks over them.  I wear -40 F rated Muck Boots.  I also have an under armor hood and a wool winter cap.  My gloves are also thinsulate lined Gore Tex.  Most of the time I don't even need the jacket, but it's nice at the end of the day or when you're sitting still.

I just find that  it's nice to be able to pull off a layer or add one as needed.
