I purchased 2 sets of knives today.
I figure they would be a good survival item as you could lash them to a stick to make a spear for fishing or some kind of swinging  limb trap to impale them into your prey.

Any other ideas on what you could use them for?

Nothing as they are Bud K importer of Chinese crap. Seriously though the quality of his products is always suspect to me. What did you buy them for? Other than they beat messing up your good knives learning to throw them. They will make a good throw away knife I guess.

For what you say you may use them for, spear or limb trap.
They should work just fine.
Saving your good knives for other things!!!
Not everyone can pay $200.00 or more for a knife.
The best knife to have is the one on you when,
Organic waste material strikes  the whirling blades!!
Mine would be a Spyderco.

Hope this is helpful!!!

P.S. THE DOWN SIDE RISK OF PREPAREDNESS IS ZERO!!!!

I think cheap knives have a place, I will usually pick up a few of the cheap .99 cent lockback folders from walmart, sharpen them and put them in a box, figure if nothing else would make decent trade fodder.

I only recommend buying quality knives.  A cheap knife may cost you more than you think when the lock gives way and closes on your fingers, or the blade snaps at an inopportune time.  A GOOD knife doesn't have to cost a small fortune.  Try Cold Steel, Spyderco, or some Gerbers.  If you want midpriced, I have had great luck with Emerson.  A knife is one of those items I will not skimp on.

When I said Cheap I was not discussing the price point, I was speaking about the quality. By quality I not only am talking about the appearance, I am talking about the heat treat the steels used etc. I have no problem owning  a quality knife, no matter the price. However buyer beware. I agree with 556 it could cost you more to save a little. I have had more than one knife bought from a gun show table 2 for 10 table blow up on me. I am now more worried bout the quality than price when I buy aknife. Right now I am looking into buying a couple of the Cold Steel Okapi ring pull knives. Definitely not a bank buster but most likely better quality for the money than anything else.

if used for just that,, they will work.

but also look into the cold steel bushman..........cheap and suited for a survival event.

Beat me to it, my thoughts exactly CS Bushman, hollw handle lets you attach it to a extended handle/pole.

And on second thought the knifes you bought, would be better than a sharp stick.
