You're possibly missing the fact that its SIX #10 cans for the price listed, not ONE can for the price listed. And as mentioned, their shipping is usually ridiculously minimal, like $4 or something for multiple cases of #10 cans. Not sure if they actually get really cheap shipping rates as a religious organization, or what the deal is with that |

It's not exactly like fresh butter but is a solid fill in. For spreading it does good. You can make it better by mixing in a tad of oil and chilling in the fridge. For baking and mixing in sauces it's great. To saut you definitely need to add oil since this seems to have almost all oil removed. Without added oil it seems to just dry up and stick. You can also use a shaker and use it to flavor veggies etc. There are lot's of tips and recipes for it if you search. We keep a few cans in the stockpile. |

People seem to say it has the consistency of cream cheese but there's also like 4 different ways to mix it so you get different consistency. Taste impressions range from nearly identical to butter to tasting more like cream cheese. Deseret Nonfat Dry Milk Price doesn't seem too bad for what it is. 12 pack 27oz for $66. |

The oils in the PB will eventually turn rancid, but storing it in a cool place should extend the shelf life beyond the listed 5 years.
