| I have the SAS Survival HANDBOOK, but I'm interested in the pocket sized SAS Survival GUIDE to cut some size and weight from my hiking/emergency bag. What's the story on these things? The handbook can be had on Amazon for like 10-15 bucks. But the smaller pocket sized guide is selling everywhere for $60+??? You can't even find them cheaper used. Did they discontinue the guide version, or what's driving the high price? I ended up buying the international version on Amazon for a much lower price. I'm not sure how the content compares to the standard version. |
| Yes, that's the one I bought. It's the "international" version. Note that your link ships from the UK. My question referred to the green colored cover guide edition. |

That one sold, but I was able to snag another one for $10 using that ISBN number. Thanks so much for the tip! Some if them are listed for $200. I don't get it... The high prices you see happen when sellers use algorithms to set their prices based on the market. Sometimes they set their prices to be X% higher or lower than a competitor. When left un checked the prices can rocket to absurd levels, there has been cases of book prices rising into the millions simply because each competitor is watching the others prices. Not that anybody pays the absurd prices but the algorithms do catch people looking for a hard to find book when the seller believes they have one of the last remaining new copies. The used book price algorithms will follow along with the price hikes in a similar fashion. https://www.wired.com/2011/04/amazon-flies-24-million/ |
