There was a thread similar to this last year, and I have not seen one done for this year yet. With January coming to a close soon, here we go.

Last year, mine were:
Goals for 2015 (tentative)

- meet US Army minimum time for 1.5mi run
- pay off credit card
- pay off Danny D carbine
- sell unused/purposeless firearms
- obtain private range membership
-- more frequent training time for myself and fiancée
- medical course
- rebuild BOB, construct BOB for fiancee.
- practice more bushcraft (specifically shelter building and fire making)
- improve apartment security
- team building

I did manage to come in under for the 1.5mi run, got my carbine out of layaway, and got rid of a couple guns (.38 snub nose Rossi and an SKS.) The credit card continues to haunt me, but I was able to close another line of credit from 2014. The range membership never occurred as every day that they held their "new member safety class" I was stuck with work, and hence live fire training suffered. I however did increase how much dry fire I was doing to at least make up for the lack of shooting. The medical course and bushcrafting never happened as again, work schedule conflicts. With the move to a new apartment this weekend, security concerns will be adjusting to the new place.

So, as it stands for 2016

- Minimize debt as much a pass possible
- Sell overly redundant, meaningless, or otherwise unneeded items. Exemptions are guns, family keepsakes, books, etc. Anything else gets turned to cash.
- Cancel or cut off unneeded services ie gym membership, any paid subscriptions, etc.
- Get wife's carry license.
- Establish a second means of income to draw in more cash

More to be added. Feel free to share your own goals for the year.

One of my goals is to take another advanced concealed carry course and a carbine class. I'd signed up for the advanced CCW class this past weekend but the snow and ice put a damper on that, so to speak.

I'm also thinking seriously about going thru my entire house, garage, sheds, etc. and doing a complete inventory and clean-up. I have reason to believe I've got 3-4 of some things but just have no idea where they are. It does no good to have stuff if you can't find it when you need it.

It also helps to get rid of stuff that you can't (or don't want) to use any more. I'm bad about keeping the old stuff even after I've acquired its replacement/upgrade.

Finish some remodeling in the house
Get in shape. No really, I can do it this year

Build some attachments, including a FEL for the 316.

Try to expand our mini-farm

Decide if we want to move for more acres, or just make ourselves comfortable. Not looking forward to taking on a mortgage if we move.

I have a few, my two biggest are probably savings and physical fitness.

-I need to knock back off about 10~15 lbs that I put on over the holidays.  I would like to have that done by spring.

-Get back on my daily hiking routine.  A minimum of 1 mile per day if not 2.  I find hiking a couple miles in the woods far surpasses the benefit of going for a walk on pavement.  I also try to add a 50 lb pack once or twice a week into my hike.  I have no desire to run.

-I need to keep working on my savings.  I have almost reached the 6 months worth of savings mark but would like to increase that by the end of summer.

-Along with that goes, stop frivolous spending.

-Stop acquiring more gear, use what I have...  That will also help me with my above goals of stop frivolous spending and put more in my savings.

-Organize and de-clutter my man cave & work shop.

-Go through and tune up my quick evac BOB.

-Get outside more;
Spend a few more nights in the woods then last year.  I think I did almost 15 nights out last year.  I would really like to get that to 20 nights out... I would like some of those to be in a primitive shelter with minimal kit.  Along with that includes the fine tuning of some bushcraft/ primitive skills.  Consistency with friction fire would be neat, but I am not banking on that.

my goals are pretty small this year.

1. MOST IMPORTANT....95% of my efforts are saving as much money as possible, and iv actually gotten off to a excellent start in this department already. ... ( for building my house in 2017), and doing landscaping, and clearing in 2016, to make things easier and go faster when house building time comes.

2. i did spend a few bucks on suppressors, and sbring some lowers this year... but im already done with that.. gun spending is all stopped nothing else gun related in 2016.  everything from now on,  is going into savings, or building materials ( gravel, culverts, rock, posts, concrete, barbed wire, etc) , or tools, to help build with. power tools, tractor implements, and things like that... .

3. i am filling up empty fuel tanks with this cheap diesel and gasoline.....i can see a lot being used while " landscaping later this summer, and prices will likely be higher, cant imagine them much lower)

4. probably store a limited about of food, in 5 gallon buckets... ( rice, beans, etc)

5. and as i said, " landscaping"... renting a backhoe to remove stumps,  dig dirt for leveling some areas,, improving the driveway angle, and width, for heavy equipment, adding gravel, figuring septic locations, doing perk tests, things along those lines. i will only rent equipment to get things done my tractor cant... like digging stumps. ill use backhoe to dig out stumps and dirt, that i will later use the tractor to move and landscape with.

6. this includes burning a bunch of brush piles, and stumps and such, to make room.... i am going to be saving a lot of wood though, as cut firewood.

7. still fixing my credit....( fixing my credit and becoming debt free was 2015's main goal, and i did it, i became debt free) ..  its looking pretty good now... i paid off ALL my debt i had last year..( all the old debt, bad debt, and divorce bills, and vehicle loans) ..felt good to be 100% debt free for a few months... but i needed to build better credit, so i went to my local bank, and  i ADDED a cheap assed $1500.00 car loan, then 6 months later, added a $17k  tractor loan, and i got a few credit cards..... but those are positive credit factors, and they are making my credit BETTER.... so im good with those... they got me established with the local bank where im planning to most likely get my house loan from. credit looks pretty good now... income to debt ratio is EXCELLENT.... payment history is EXCELLENT.... just takes time to build it, as i dont have any long term loans like a mortgage...

I need to loose some weight, get into shape again, and get out in the woods where my heart is.

Lose some weight, get my dad set up with HF again for some long range comms, put some money into maintenance on the house, find a good used 4x4 to haul my crap around, and start camping again.

For me. I just got debt free but actually house shopping. Once I get the house I want then I can get serious about prepping. I have been renting for years now. I have been putting money aside so that when I do buy a house I can go full bore and get caught up with my prepping, i.e I have a few hundreds earmarked for 2 55gal water barrels and the gutter attachments. I have cash set aside for buckets/Mylar/rice/beans etc. I am renting a house now so at least I had the room to get started on buying my supplies so that helps. I already did my EMTFR training and taken a few advanced firearm courses.  I like threads like this. When others start laying out their goals it helps me see the things I have overlooked.

Shed some more of my heavy six, start clocking some time outdoors. I need to embrace more of an active outdoors lifestyle to help me be ready. I spend too much time buying shit and reading about preparedness instead of living it as a lifestyle. I have allowed consumerism to take over my life, including my preps.

GET ORGANISED!!

I spent the weekend getting weapons organised as over time I haved moved weapons around but not necessarily all the ammo and accessories.
Last year I took my .308 to the BOL but realised a bunch of the mags and ammo stayed in town so I will taking that up or building another for town....

And put on some muscle as I age it seems to evaporate.

I haven't worked in my field for over 13 months, and am currently horrendously under-employed.  So finding a job that would allow me to cover living expenses is my first goal - all other goals are on hold until that happens.

I can say that having a bunch of food (and money) put away has seriously saved our bacon - no pun intended.
