I tried asking in the TP thread but I guess no one saw it.
I've definitely been spoiled by the bidet yall suggested around Christmas! Now whenever I'm out...at the office, wal-mart...wherever, I'm just not a fan of TP anymore. No comparison. I'd like to get a portable one and I've seen a few different styles...battery operated, squeeze bottle and then this one that you just wind up the bottom (no batteries needed). That one looks pretty appealing because it's totally off-grid. So nothing to go dead or corrode. Anyway, having a portable one means never having to worry about having TP ever again. No matter if it's on the side of the road (hopefully secluded), camping, work, etc...doesn't matter! Which do yall use? Thanks -Emt1581 |

I used a bidet for several years and enjoyed an incredibly clean rear during that time. I agree, there is NO comparison.
The downside I experienced was an increasingly "soft" (certainly there is a better word than soft) rear making it really unpleasant to use TP when I had to....work, traveling, camping, etc. If you can figure a way to make a portable/failsafe bidet, that will be awesome. For me, I weened off the bidet and worked back up to full time TP. That's my prep. Toughing up to handle wiping with any cheap TP or whatever else is available. |

EMT can you post a link to the one you use for your house? Been looking at these also. Thanks Mine is the Lux Bidet 120. Love it!! Makes me feel like I'm in mission control a bit (I mean when else does your toilet seat have knobs)....but it makes TP seem pretty primitive. Kinda the way TP users thing of leaves. -Emt1581 |

That's precisely why I started this thread. Not that it hurts at all to go back...there's just no comparing the cleanliness plus I can get water damn near anywhere in society or in nature...can't say the same for TP. Sure you can improvise and I guess some here are priding themselves on it. But there's no need to improvise if in your car/backpack/brief-case/purse/etc...you've got something the side of an eyeglass case that can wash your ass for you. Wrap a wash cloth around it for drying and it's a self-contained system. -Emt1581 |
