Would an old deep freeze work for storage? And could it be buried just deep enough to hide it' and still keep things safe? Just a thought cause i have two big ones.

They aren't waterproof, so burying them would probably be...unproductive.

The exterior will eventually rust out. The inside will last a while longer if it's plastic - If it's aluminum, corrosion will be a problem.

Better use for an old chest freezer:

What are you trying to bury? PVC pipe is the best IMHO if you can fit whatever into it.

Not my setup, so I couldn't say for sure...

Typically, a battery compartment vent fan is used to draw battery gasses outdoors - Examples here and here.

Looks like it may have a vent fan on the top right.

I use a non-working, small refrigerator to store powder and primers. The fridge is in an unheated storage shed and I re-wired the door switch so the light stays on all the time. The 25 (?) watt bulb keeps the temp around 50 F to 70 F. More important than the temp is the humidity, which is kept very low.

I have used one to store a bunch of latex paint in to keep it from freezing.  Just threw a trouble light inside and closed the lid.  Kept everything nice and toasty all winter.  I know, CSB.

+1 on the ammo/powder storage.  my kitchen fridge died a few years ago, this is its new purpose in life.  i really do need to get it out of the kitchen someday though.
