Wow!! I thought Goodwill was just for clothing.  I'll have to check it out.

Not to hi-jack but are there any common prepper items people give to them?

Awesome find!

I find Coleman stoves there for around $5-$10 every once in a while.

I only really go for prep items. New jeans are just a bonus.

Only thing I've used my camp stove for is molding bullets.  I have a wood stove which gives me the same ability.  But having an extra couple of the camp stoves couldn't hurt.

As for jeans, they have Carhartts or is that asking too much?

Thanks

Check the specs.  Cyberpower makes a better sinusoidal wave. Some UPS are computer killers.

During the 2008 ice storm, my techs and I constructed some pretty impressive external battery cabinets for several of these:

Hauling 60lb batteries up and down two flights of stairs to the parking lot for charging was a supreme pain in the ass, but we got it done. Fortunately, my techs were much younger than me

I've been using the same IBM model M keyboard for ~10 years.

I bought it at a thrift store for $3; they go for close to $100 on ebay nowadays

Ive been shopping more and more at goodwill. I usually just buy obscure things thst I know theyll have. Papershredder, backpacks, tripod, skeet blanket, belts, books for my daughter, broken keyboard, etc.   Lately ive been buying clothes. It makes me feel like a hobo, but its dirt cheap and the stuff ive bought looks bran new.

I picked up an old black & decker (back when they were all metal, not plastic) circular saw there in almost new condition last week for $20.

You forget he had to replace all the batteries. In that case, they should have been free.

Great find, OP!

I find all sorts of great stuff at Goodwill: brand new Rocky mil boots for $7, oil lamps, Coleman lanterns for $4, NITB Coleman camp stoves for $3 (single burner) or $5 (double burner, used), FIREFOX books for 50 cents, etc.

Things are worth what one will pay for them - "should" has got nothing to do with it.

I went into Goodwill once. Made it about 10 feet and almost threw up from the smell. I couldnt get out of there fast enough. My wife was outside already gagging.

Is there a reason to purchase the correct replacement batteries other than them fitting in the case?  It seems you could get a deep discharge battery and run two wires to the internal battery connection area, and have a far longer backup time for much less money per stored watt.

My eventual game plan involves something like this.
