| How much alcohol do you guys keep on hand? drinkiing or trade? thanks |
| This was just covered a few weeks ago. Consensus was alcohol is pretty stable. I just have plastic screw top bottles I rotate through. I am sure glass would be better long term, but as long as the original seal isn't broken, you should be good to go. I drink Seagrams 7. I have 6 half gallons, when I finish one, I buy another. I do Plan to buy some 5ths of vodka for long term storage. |

The only bottle I keep with my preps is a bottle of 190 proof everclear. That burns pretty good in my alcohol stoves and if I had to "medicate" someone including myself it would work but you have to cut that as it burns like a SOB if you are dumb enough to try to drink even a small amount straight.
Otherwise, I don't see alcohol as having a big place in my preps. Then again we don't drink much under normal times. |

It wasn't expensive... perhaps $20 Here I googled a price... http://www.winechateau.com/sku1004371_EVERCLEAR-GRAIN-ALCOHOL-190@-750ML?utm_source=shopzilla&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Everclear-Grain-Alcohol-190@ Now, I know you can't buy this everywhere, hell I am not even sure if my local state stores have it as I might have got it out of state. I've had it in my preps for a couple years now and as suggested it sure will not go bad. |

I'd think that having a few bottles tucked away for a rainy day would be a good thing.
re: The bottle cap question - does it matter, I mean really matter? As long as it does not allow evaporation, its probably gtg. Distilling: Probably not a bad thing to explore. You can use the still not only to make alcohol, but tinctures and such can be made with the alcohol as well. You can make turpentine, and essential oils by distilling. All this, and you can make pure water also? To quote The Mighty Sheen: Winning! |
