What's the best way to store dip/smokeless tobacco long term?

Fridge or maybe freezer.
Your pretty much screwed on SHTF and snuff.

Thinking bout this.
Vac sealing may help keep it fresher for a.little longer, but
long term freshness for snuff I think is not obtainable.

Edit for.additional info.

when it would  get stale I used to spit in the can and shake it up.

now that I'm not addicted I realize how effing gross dipping is.

someone is going to tell you this so it might as well be me, QUIT. I dipped for 18 years and quit using nicorette  gum, and then regular gum. It is not easy but you can do it if  YOU WANT TO. You will run out eventually so why bother with storing some and then having the added stress to deal with when it runs out after an event ? Quit now and there is one thing less to prep for, plus all the money savings and better health. There is no advantage to not quitting.

I use to enjoy a real chew every once in a while. Red Man is pretty damn tasty! I swore off all nicotine a few years ago. If it wasn't so harmful and gross, I would still use it. It's the best drug out there!

After my research here and elsewhere; freezing it.

I quit over 7 years ago, and although there are still occasional cravings I'm damn glad I did.

As for how to keep it fresh, the best tips are already mentioned. Rotate stock b/c long term storage isn't going to happen.

Yea, RedMan,Beechnut while hunting or fishing is real good. I am not and never was a regular user, but once in a while a good chew or even a cigar tastes good.

Putting the dip in a cigar humidor might work.
