been lurking on the forum for sometime now and just wanted to say thank you to everyone who contributes.
got the wife onboard and we are going to spend a lot more of our free time towards prepping this year. Already have the land and have started gathering the material required. Anyone else in the Central Texas area and if so, anything y'all have done differently due to climate/lack of rain, etc. |

Welcome, glad to have you here! I'm over in East Tx near Louisiana and I've got alot of things I'd like to do but the over abundance of rain and a high water table here prevent me from doing them. (root cellars etc) Isn't it funny how the climate can be so different from place to place within the same state? Texas really is like a whole other country. |

Quoted: Currently live in round rock, but I own 500 acres 15 miles east of gatesville. We get more rain than west tx but a heck of a lot less than east. Mainly cedar and oak around the property unlike oiney east or south. That's right on the edge pf Blackland Prairie. Is it flat or hilly? I'm in McLennan county but have family land just outside of Cove.
