I was just talking about camping with a buddy this weekend, and we were talking about making it a true minimalist trip.
It was about that time, I realized I don't think I've seen a post from Barbara since her coffee can camping trip thread a few months back. Anybody know/heard from her? If your in here, Barbara, how are you doing? Everything ok? |

Aww..thanks, guys. My life has moved in new directons, some good, some bad, very quickly, and things around home have sort of fallen apart. New job requires 60 hours a week plus 10 hours of driving, plus living out of state for two months and quite a bit of travel. So..no garden, bees are barely hanging on, had to pay someone to build a new chicken coop for me, etc.
Pretty much, my life has devolved into a schedule of getting up at 4:00 to go to the gym, work, martial arts classes, get home at 10:00 pm, sleep. Not sure how long this is realistic to continue. But until I figure it out, my participation here will be limited. I did take a couple of classes this year. South Narc was awesome and I'd highly recommend it for anyone who wants to learn and doesn't care about their ego. EAG P2 and C2 were good as always. Also met someone, who isn the same page as me about just about everything, and thats awesome..after all these years, I didn't see that coming. We don't spend much time together though, but it will work out. So..in summary, thats it. I'll be back. Thanks for noticing I was missing. Could totally talk about minimalist camping, though. My goal is eventually head out for a couple of days with just what I'm wearing, just for fun. Maybe next year. |

I'm glad you're still around. When I joined in 08, you were the only woman taking classes and really shooting. I wanted to be like that, not just making holes in paper with borrowed rifles. I admired that a lot, and even though I don't do three gun or anything, I'm taking classes and working on being "Barbara-like". |

I'm glad to hear your busy! Thats better than many these days.
You and BigEasy add a lot to this forum, especially being your really the only woman that frequent. Its awesome getting to see your viewpoints on different topics. I hope you don't think it odd I was asking, it just popped into my mind for whatever reason, thought Id better make sure. Well, I hope it all works out the best for you, and thanks for your contributions. Best wishes. |

Haha..thank you, although there have to be better role models out there. Ever try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? I'm pretty hooked. I did a little, I just don't have the kind of life that allows for regular classes. I dropped out because I couldn't hack the schedule. |

Quoted: I've never seen the movie. Cars? Mater = small town country boy Sally = Lawyer gal Lightning = race car guy Romance sparks between Lightning and Sally but the two keep getting interrupted until the end of the movie. Finally as Sally and Lightning have a moment to themselves and a chance to deal with their feelings ... Mater rides up in a helicopter hollarin' and makin' noise Mater starts reciting the schoolyard rhyme ... Lightning and sally sitting in a tree ... K I S S I _ _ Mater tries to spell the word three times but cannot. I hope I do not offend you |
