| SHTF situations when the power is out? |
|
Don't need to after spending four days without power a couple of weeks ago.
Laundry - let the kids do it (they had fun with the cold water in the tub). Cooking - during the summer no one wants hot food anyway. Security - yes, we made sure someone was awake at all times to make sure the generators didn't grow legs and walk away. BTW we had greatly increased foot and vehicle traffic in our neighborhood after the storm went through. Much of it I'm sure was looky-lou's gawking at the damage (one guy lost every tree in his yard), but other folks I'm sure were up to no good. |

What kind of generator do you have, we have a gasoline powered one. |

DR field and brush mower w/ generator attachment - 5500 W steady, 6000 W surge. Only downside is that it's not efficient so it uses a lot of gasoline compared to a normal generator, but since we already had the mower we could pick up the generator attachment for half the price of a 5500 W unit. Also, the fact that it's self-propelled is nice.
