If repeatability is a concern for you, then you would be better served with Krill lights. They take a single AA, and can be turned on and off when you desire. I liked the Krills when I got them, but they had a nasy habit of dieing in storage.(not the batteries the light element itself). |

Actually one of the neatest things I own now and like it so much I own a few is a Nebo.
One of the guys did a thread on the little mini-Nebo single AA flashlight. I thought for the money, heck, I'll give it a try. Damn is this a nice light. Its a mini-clip pocket light but aircraft aluminum body, rubber band for wet grip, glow in the dark push button, long battery life, and high output LED that equals the 2 AA LED mini-Mag. It even has a nice tactile defense nozzle for looks. Best part is its so small, you can hide it in one hand and will fit in any pocket. Set that little bugger on its end or lean it on something, it'll light up a room as well if not better than most LED lanterns. Its a neat thing. nebo |

There are a number of cheap LED-based plastic glow sticks available from the battery manufacturers. Target stores typically have one type with a light, whistle, glow section, and "flasher" mode, typically around $6. I got a five pack of LED based glow sticks off Amazon.com a while back (also with flash mode) and they are reasonably water proof. That was $8. Krill lights are the "high end" version of the same thing. Which you use sort of depends on what your actual use is. I don't think I'd want to mark a trail or hand out Krill lights to kids.

what if you point it west? Just a wild guess, but I think in this instance E means Voltage. |

what if you point it west? You get the reaction as it occurs in Australia, as seen here: http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1171/fluophosopho.jpg Well played sir, well played. |

Did you guys even check out the link?
These are not mini flashlights. They are chem lights that can be recharged using any light source. They are supposed to glow "all night". What are UVPaqlites?
The UVPaqlites are designed to give the user a form of light that has utility beyond typical glow-in-the-dark novelty products. The UVPaqlites are reusable, portable, waterproof, and require no maintenance. When exposed to any other type of light: sunlight, LED lights, Flashlights, blacklights, etc. the UVPaqlites will glow all night long. They provide enough light to function in dark environments without using batteries, fuel, or energy. What makes UVPaqlites glow? The Patent Pending technology provides a new way to capture the glowing photons, which are produced via crystal manufacturing from the earth’s resources of strontium, aluminum and other rare earth elements. When exposed to other light sources the crystals quickly absorb the light, store it, and then produce enough light to continue glowing all night long. UVPaqlite glow lights are environmentally friendly and non-toxic. How long will the UVPaqlites last? The UVPaqlites will last forever! The UVpaqlites, unlike traditional lights, do not require batteries, bulbs, or chemical activation (shaking or breaking) therefore you can reuse them over-and-over again. These glow-in-the-dark lights do not have a shelf-life so you can store them anywhere in case of an emergency. Where can I use the UVPaqlite? Use these glow-in-the-dark lights as a night light, as a back up light in other dark spaces (basements, sheds, garages, etc), or hang them in a tent, RV, cabin, or gulf stream private jet. Our glow lights are so versatile customers are coming up with new uses everyday! |
