Trying to get more info on sprouting seeds. I do know how to get them going. I do know they are loaded with vitamins and nutrients. Just looking for more info like where to buy and types of seeds to sprout.

When we were sailing, we pretty much used just alphalfa & mung beans that we got at a health foods store- it was nice to have something fresh & crunchy out at sea.. the nutrition was a side benefit!

Alfafa is the most common, followed by Mung Bean.  Health food fans sprout wheat, I like soybeans (but lightly cooked and seasoned with garlic.)  There is a reason to cook soybeans, they have somethign that blocks vitamin uptake other wise.

Alfafa is usually eaten raw on sandwitches and salids, mung bean is commonly cooked.

I've gotten stuff from there. Good stuff, everything sprouts (no duds). The sample packs are good for trying stuff out. I like the bean mixes, they taste really good.

The seeds store well too, I actually had some that were about 10 years old (forgotten at the back of a cupboard and just in zip baggies) and they still sprouted just fine.

I really like sprouts and I eat tons, so this year I got this: http://www.easygreen.com/ It works really well, I just fill it up with water and seeds once a day. Watering sprouts three times a day got really old. The trays are much easier to clean than the ones with holes as well.
