Anybody have one? I have two portable gensets, one with a 10 hp Yamaha engine and also a Honda 2000.
I do want the option of running gasoline. I've run IMPCO regulators on pick up conversions so I'm a familiar with running propane.
Anybody have any suggestions, do or don't?
Thanks for the help!

I have a kit from these guys for my Yamaha 2400is.  Works great.  I keep a few BBQ and RV size tanks around as well as having a hook up for my 1000 gallon home propane tank.

I've looked at their site. I was just wondering if anyone here actually used one of their kits or rigged one themselves.

I've installed the kit in a Honda 2K.  I can run it from the house NG or my RV propane.

So how long will say a 7500 watt gen with a 10hp motor run on a 20gal. Propane tank?

You would have to know the following to determine the runtime:

YOUR generators gasoline fuel usage at the a specified load X .70 (a rough estimate because the BTUs in propane are less than in gasoline) X the number of gallons in the propane tank = run time.  Several things to keep in mind is that a BBQ tank is a 20lb tank not a 20 gallon tank.  A BBQ tank holds 4.6 gallons of propane as I recall.  There is some variance of fuel consumption that seems to be dependent on each system.  My Yamaha will run longer on propane than the formula above would lead you to believe it should run.  Why?  I have no idea.

I have a 2400I propane that runs great, also had a 6000 that ran great to.

I will not do a gas portable genny again. To much of a pita compared to propane.

If I remember I'll post video of my genny running for you, have to upload it when I get home.
