Wheel kit, schmeel kit. When I bought my cheap Champion, the wheel kits were an additional $30. Seems like places like to include wheel kits and a cover now as a "Bonus!", but that wasn't the case back when I bought. So, cheap ass that I am, I passed on it and figured I would just pick it up and carry it whenever I needed to move it. Well, lazy ass that I am, I'm not as strong as I used to be, and found that I didn't enjoy carrying it around as much as I thought I might, so I have generally avoided moving it. The other week I was at Fleet Farm, and cheap lazy ass that I am saw a 1200lb furniture dolly for $20 and picked that up. Cheaper than the wheel kit, and if I ever need the dolly for something else, then I can take the generator off and use it. Multi-purpose! Wouldn't be very good for rolling across the grass, but it loves the concrete. |

The inlet I'm eying up (50 amp RV outlet that NEVER gets used) is just outside my garage, so hypothetically, I should never have to roll it across grass. I would probably take it off the dolly to run to make sure it's on the rubber bumpers. The lawn mower idea is pretty clever. |
