It must have been a year or so ago, someone posted a website (free site) where you could enter in your zip code and get layered PDF maps that showed everything from elevation to water lines.  Anyone remember the link to that?

Thanks.

I doubt that they're as detailed as you need, but you can try USGS

USGS maps and such

A direct search (Google etc.) might be better for water tables and soil content.

You can download any USGS topo for free here:

USGS Topos in PDF

I'm not sure if they have the layers you need or not - I have not installed the GeoPDF.

If you don't have a full size plotter, you can take the PDF to a copy shop or simply use the 'tile' print option and use a bunch of 8 1/2" x 11" sheets.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for......but most areas have city or county GIS data available......most have more layers than you will know what to do with.  Do an Internet search for the name of your county and GIS.

ESRI is the company that developed arcview and has an online gis explorer with tons of features.  You can load custom layers including topo maps, floodplanes, weather and roads.
