As I was buttering my bagel this morning it sparked a thought in my head.

Im new to long term food storage but I read almost every thread that comes through here. My stock consists of nothing more than a s#1t ton of rice and peanut butter (gotta start somewhere) but I have not seen anything on long term storage of butter. A quick google search brings up some pricing on dehydrated butter in #10 cans, but I think the forum members here can educate me far more thoroughly than a site trying to sell the stuff.

Please unleash all you know on long term storage of butter. Experiences, preferences, suggestions, links etc all would be helpful.

Thanks

The Red Feather butter is good stuff.

We have some powdered butter for cooking.
I have not tried to reconstitute powdered butter for spreading on bread, etc.

I concur on the Red Feather, good stuff.  Way better than their cheese.  I also store powdered butter, it will not be used for much other than cooking, reconstitutes like butter flavored syrup.
