I wanted to thank you guys. I started lurking on ARF before I joined and always found it kind of Then one day I clicked the Outdoors tab and was hooked in a few hours of reading. Thats when I actually joined as a paying member. My eyes really got opened to many things I had not thought about and leanred better ways to go about things I already had been doing. I've had several small wtf situations even minor emergencys. Someone from SF has always posted or sent me a private message with genuine concern and a willingness to help.

Here atleast where I live we dodged a major bullet with the hurricane. Many houses on my street were even flooded. Alot of people are still without power in my area. We were home safe with plenty of fuel if we needed it. Well prepared for the storm long before it was forcasted. We did go pick up some last minute things we didnt need but felt were good to have on hand at the suggestion of other SF members posts on hurricane stuff.

Pre ar15/SF I was in FL for katrina. We had a case of water, 2500 watt generator, single burner propane stove, some candles and canned soup. What a difference a few years makes. Short of the house getting blown away or a tragic accident we would have been able to live very close to daily life no matter what happened with the storm. I am grateful for that.

BTW some of our gear (gear I wouldnt own if I never clicked on the SF forum) is now helping friends and family post storm since we did not need it.

Weird If I click the link to the thread it takes me to the main page of the general tab! I had to click last post next to your name to even get back into the thread.

We got 0 water, Didn't lose power, not a branch fell in the yard. Knowing the lay of the land around us and know many people who got flooded I still cant figure out how we DIDN't get flooded. I thanked God many many times this weekend though.

And thus is born a new generation of people at least clued-in to preparedness. Good job.
