here is an interesting brand new website chock full of news and information on current events –– it is actually quite useful indeed to folks who have an internet connection and wish to broaden their knowledge of current events both domestically and internationally ...

Topic drift here.... I've done a little searching and tried to figure out who Nutfancy is.  All I find are references to his videos.  Who is this guy and what is his background?  I guess I am wondering why so many people find him to be any more knowledgeable than the next person.

i would have to echo others and say that you need to watch all of his video's. his knowledge is quite literally trial and error as well as military training. from what i can tell and anyone with more knowledge on the subject can correct me if im incorrect, he is a Lt.Col. in the USAF, and is in a unique place to be able to personally test and review many different tactical items. i do not think he is an expert by any means, nor do i think he has combat experience. I do know that most of his logic is sound. he is able to create "run and gun" courses  where he tests weapons, gear, cammo, everything (look up SLEDGEHAMMER, and EAT LEAD DRILL). He is a data-point. but heavily based off of common since. watch the videos from beginning to end and make your own conclusion, hell, he will tell you that himself in the videos.

lol the fact that you cannot find much info on him indicates to me that he is at least as good at OPSEC as many of you!!

from what i understand, nutnfancy is/was an air force officer.

he has good info, and is for the good fight,  but a lot of folks don't care for his long winded delivery of the message.

He's done a couple of videos from deployed positions, though he very, very carefully hides his unit particulars, and only if you recognize the background will you know where he is.

I've run some of his videos past guys who have seen combat (in particular his three level first aid packs) and they tell me the info is sound.

From what I can see, people either love his stuff or hate it.

IIRC he's recently retired Lt. Col from the Utah Air National Guard.  He flew one of the flavors of refueling tankers.

His testing method is similar to Old_Painless: he goes out, does it, and
reports what happened.  He tells people what he likes and what he
doesn't, and he warns that his thing may not be your thing.

I've been following his channel for almost two years, and I've purchased
or built at least 20 things he's recommended, and I've never been
disappointed with any of them.

From the youtube link

I live near Kennesaw Ga, and to live there it is REQUIRED by law to have a gun in your home.

I will add that he fills an interesting niche. He is a good guy and has covered a wide range of gear and topics concerning preparedness and guns. If you want a concise and brief review on something, he is not for you. For someone who is careful about their money and wants to know lot's of details on different products his videos will help you out.

His Urban Survival Kit series was interesting to me.

He is also absolutely without shame.  His videos on traveling on that scooter thing were interesting to say the least.  Don't think I could manage it.

I wish I could move, but as a condition of employment I must live in the city.  I have to much time vested in my career to leave now.  I am counting the days.  I really envy some of the folks here that live in a rural environment.

Oh well, one day.

Thanks for the responses.  I was just wondering his background since he seems to do a lot of reviews of weapons and kit.

another thing i would like to know is the "legal force" you could use in a situation, as in what would constitute deadly danger and how far would you have to "let" someone go before its self defence

Mas Ayoob has a pretty good series on the justification of lethal force, a good chunk of them on youtube.  Generally, if you're alone and faced with a violent mob, you might reasonably be in fear for your life or grave bodily harm.

interesting vid , its all but over now in the UK now , the no knocks have started and justice will be done ( i hope ).

i feel sorry for the police as they are put in a situation that would require extreme force but due to the roe they can not respond .

it took a few days for the people to respond and start to take control themselves as they could see the police could not for fear of later prosecution and the total lack of support from our .gov.

do not get sucked into believing any of this is to do with the shooting by the police of a black man in London or any of the rubbish being spouted in the media , its just scum with no morals wanting free stuff and to bust stuff up .

the honest people of the UK have said no , not on my street and i am warmed by that and hope this grows in the coming years , maybe some national pride will come back .

folks have been sending cards with cash in them to some of the shop owners who got looted or burnt out or turning up with a broom to help clean up  , it gives me hope .

john.

read about the same thing happening in philli. i get the feeling that its going to be a fad... meaning people are going to do it if it catches on. all im sayin is the glock 21 came out of the box last week and has been under the pillow or on the desk  on my strong side ever since (when im home).

it wont be nearly as bad. but small odds are still odds
