Where does everyone get their bulk beans, ect.?
I know Sam's and Costco. I purchased pinto's from Sam's, no Costco here, but Sam's doesn't have the Black Beans, Garbonzo, Black Eyed in bulk.

I had found these several months ago, some may have some good prices and some don't.
Keep in mind the shipping is going to be high but if you order a lot it may be worth it, if you get your items for the right price.
Hope this helps a few people.

If anyone has or know's of a place that's cheaper, I sure would like to know.

I would not overlook Emergency Essentials.
They are a site sponsor and their shipping prices are not bad, either.
I just got 2 cases of Oat Groats and shipping was like $9.00. (63.75 lbs. FedEx)

You can also order wheatberries, pinto beans, white rice & oatmeal online in #10 cans from The LDS.
Their prices include shipping.

If you have access to a local LDS Cannery the prices are cheaper and they have more products available.
In Texas they are in El Paso, Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas areas.

Another option is sunflower market (a slightly less expensive version of whole paycheck errr whole foods).  Mine will order extra bags of anything they stock in the bulk food bins.  IIRC Steel cut and pinhead oats were fairly reasonable.

EE can be good.

LDS roughly 31 pounds of wheat in number 10 cans (6 cans in a box total weight around 33 pounds) for under $30.  And no they don't add you to a mailing or go visit list.  At least they have never added me.

LDS has been out of wheat for several months (before Jap tsunami). I wish they would restock.

A lot of places have bulk rice. Look in the Mexican food section. WalMart has larger bags of it, so do several other groceries around here.

I think they have bigger bags of beans as well.

Another place to look for rice, wheatberries & whole oats is your local Co-Op. All three in towns around me will order at no extra charge if they don't have in stock normally.
Just another possibility for everyone.

Walmart rice is crappy    :-p    And while they do have 25# bags at the walmart here, the biggest beans they have is a 5# bag of black beans and a 2.5# bag of pinto beans.  This is the best selection anywhere nearby.   Blah.

Too bad you are not close to Greensboro.

Well, there is always Emergency Essentials.

have you checked around the produce area for a big bulk box of beans? like a pallet size that you just scoop out however much you want.  if walmart doesnt have one, try a local grocery store.

I guess I am lucky to be nearby a city that basically has a lot to offer folks from many other countries.

I can find little local stores that cater to folks from south america or china or greece or ghana or a whole bunch of other places.

If in east tn you just need to wander around oak ridge and knoxville to find these places.

And I agree their products are usually better than what wally world provides.

But I do ok in wally world since they often have decent stuff due to what the local folks want.

I need to get my aunt to head to sam's on one of my off days, I have not been there in a year or so I think.  I have some stuff I want to pick up but it will be me taking my suv with the back seats folded down I expect once I get done picking everything up at once.

A lot of stores carry what the locals like to buy.

I often wish my walmart would carry some of the stuff the walmarts in morman areas carry but you can only ask for so much.

I use my local krogers, food lion, food city, ugo, dollar store, and any other local store for stocking up.  I wander in different ones if they advertise a sale or I have time to kill.

I get soft white wheat and corn in bulk from my local feed store.  They have soybeans in 50 lb bags.
Other wheat, grains I've special ordered from another feed store, or from a pro organic soccer mom who orders it (basically she makes a very few bucks, but I get the advantage of paying my share of truck freight on a route truck)
Bread Beckers in Atlanta is another source, but they are expensive and pre package in 5 gallon buckets.
Rice from Asian big box stores (ie Super H-market), due to quality
Basmatti rice,  Pintos, salt and sugar from Sams
Beans (Chickpeas espically) from Indian Grocery stores in 4 lbs bags.  I also talked an Indian resturant owner into getting me access into an indian (run by and for) grocery wholesaler.
Other Beans from WinnDixie.  In the past at 0.99/lb, they under priced most other sources.  Now those prices are only if on sale.

Same here, I can't find wheat berries anywhere.

If you haven't actually checked multiple wallyworlds in your area you can try the 'check store availability' link on these two pages:

Prairie Gold Hard White Spring Wheat 25 pound bag

Bronze Chief Hard Red Spring Wheat 25 pound bag

I know 25 pound sacks are not really 'bulk' but its cheaper than I was able to find any shipped source, and I could not find any local sources for larger bulk sales.  I have to drive about 25 miles to a store that has them here; none of the near ones do.

I'm lucky enough to have a Honeyville Farms retail store on my way home from work. I also shop at Costco and Smart And Final.
