Hey Guys,
Im leaving for a 10 day trip to Spain on thirs night. I ordered a Garmin 76CX, (its a Marine version, I figure I can use it on my JetSki as well) and I overnighted it so it should be here in time. My only question is how the hell do I get maps, esp of Spain/Europe. I have found them for sale, however they wouldnt have been able to ship them in time. I guess the chip would be the easist (if I could find one), but what else can I do? Can I download the maps online? Or is there a store where I can buy go and buy a maps/software/whatever? Thanks guys. |

I think it's called mapsource, should come with the unit. After you install it, just hook it up, pick what maps you want, then there's a "send to receiver" button on the toolbar. | If you're going to purchase a map I'd strongly advise ordering the map on a data card, so that it's ready to go, or else buy the map as downloadable content. With your trip date this close, you'll pay again for next day air, plus have to try to figure out how to get the map software installed and working, map installed and working, maps made and generated for the device, then uploaded onto a memory card. When you need to be doing other things to get ready for your trip probably. |
