I think some sort of heavy duty but fairly light weight method of hauling supplies would be very useful. Since I have a 15 month old son, bugging out on foot would be a very last final resort option. I don't really plan on treking cross country with a shopping cart ala "The Road," but it woul be useful to have something I could strap to the roof of my BOV and use if needed. I would need to be big enough to haul a toddler and supplies, preferably with 4 wheels as I don't subscribe to the Gunkid tactical wheelbarrow school.

Any suggestions?

Some of the garden carts look pretty good ~have been thinking about one for the range.

Would certainly want one of the lighter ones.

Double tap, however my dad used to have a cart the size of a refrigerator with large bicycle tires, it was OK but if the load was heavy the wheels as big as they were would stop "hopping" over things, basically too much weight and you were fighting it unless you were on flat ground.

Aosom Bike trailer.
This cargo trailer is rated to 180 lbs.  The wheels pop off so you could use it as a roof rack on your vehicle.

You could add a harness like this for use on foot

I also have an infant and have been looking at different types of "off road" joggers and bicycle trailers.

I think i've settled on something like this for the baby. It can either be pushed or hooked to a bike and pulled. My wife would handle the baby mobile.

And something like this for gear that i can either pull on a bike or on foot.

I'll be building the "OnelegPaddy AssWagon" as soon as the temps get above freezing. I live 60 miles from work. I'm fortunate that my job requires (large) lockers for ALL employees. In the event of a catastrophic event that, requires me to abandon my duties....I will NOT be setting out without my body armor, clothing, water and food. My current physical condition would limit my travel to a minimum of ten miles per day. Thus..I must plan to spend at least 4-5 nights in sub freezing temps.
The "cart" will serve as a bed, toilet and trailer to haul more than I need. It's a work in progress.....Please stay tuned.
