| I have some old silver flatware and cant decide on what to do with it. I do know I do not need it but cant decide if I should sell or can it be melted enough to get the silver content. Perhaps it would be best just selling it to a silver buyer? Suggestions!!! |

might want to watch the silver price and when it gets a little higher sell it and then when it goes down some buy some silver rounds or junk silver coins. if it says sterling its 92.5% silver. if u have a lot of it u would have a nice chunk of money. might want to find a local jewely shop. most buy silver. or might be better off finding how much its worth then sell it on craigslist. u will probly make more on there.

| I think you would be better off taking to a coin shop, some will buy flatware. The guy I deal with buys silver flatware all the time and gives what seems to be fair prices. It has got to be better than what the "gold and silver buyers" at a hotel over the weekend. |

Maybe this is not the route you're looking at, but I say keep it.
We have some heirloom quality silver flatware - Reed & Barton. Useful stuff in many ways. (1) Holds and increases value over time (often regardless of silver spot). (2) it has a use, eating - but remains silver in the bank, ready to be traded/sold. (3) Lastly, in a true SHTF scenario, silver is antimicrobial and a good thing to be eating off of - again it can be sold, melted, traded as needed. |
