It's a Dana 60 with brand new Dutchman axles. Come on....have a little faith. Oh yes, it needed some brake work. Front lines were leaky and E-Brake was not functioning. It is getting the full treatment before I put it on the road. Dana 60 picture.

Well the 14 was a factory option and is stronger than a 60 but with the loss of a some clearance . Thats why I assumed a 14 if you were lucky , most people selling trucks will tell you about any thing to get it sold. The Semi float 14 swap in place of a 10 bolt is pretty common around here with alot of the guys that run 38s and larger. |

Dana 60 picture. ![]() The only reason we assumed it wasnt a d60 is because the d60 wasnt put under these trucks from the factory, and is not a bolt in mod. I notice that it has and extra set of spring pads there too. Just trying to make sure you didnt get fed a line BS |

I am glad everyone looked.
For the relative height of the truck I felt the snorkel was unnecessary......who knows. I do appreicate everyone making sure I did not get taken by a fradulent seller. I am sort of new to the SF but I hope that you will find that while I rarely post......I never post unless I am sure of what I am saying. Again, thanks for looking. I am planning some upgrades for storage in and on the cap and I will update as I go. Have a great weekend. |
| In the picture of the axle you will notice the U-bolts are in good shape which mean the previous owner probably never had the truck off road that much or in all that bad of a spot or the U-bolts bolts would be bent up from hanging down as far as they do. New U-bolts are usually longer than they need to be and once installed need to be cut off too keep from getting hung up or dragging on something. |

Why you all bustin' his balls? we didn't I bet a couple of you drive Japanese. Some of us do, so what is your point He posts hoping for a couple of props and gets hammered. And again; not "Never question a mans integrity regarding his truck or his guns." BS and inaccurate information gets called out here. Matt Miller 2010 He claimed an axle that was not offered in GM half ton vehicles. When folks ask if he got ripped off, that is not hazing. ETA spelling |

Its all good everyone! I am a long time lurker and minimal poster....so I have yet to be vetted.
I posted for feedback and yes, seeing a D60 in a half ton is unusual....asking if I was factual in that statement is perfectly acceptable. I have a thick skin and its hard for me to take something the wrong way on here. Again, thank you everyone for looking. In a few weeks I will be back with pics once the repairs are done and I start working on storage solutions and a sleeping system. |

Quoted: Quoted: Most dana 60's are full floating design and would have a big ole chunk a hub hangin out of the rear wheel. Count the cover bolts bet it is ether a 10 bolt or maybe the 14SF 6 lug. Is a kick ass axle for a 1/2 ton truck. That's what mine has. 1992 Silverado 1500, 6.2 non-turbo, 14 Bolt rear end. Nice pickup, OP! ETA: I scrolled down & saw your axle pic.....nice. ![]() |

Just wanted to supply a little update: fixed the front brake lines, new calipers and pads, CV shafts, E-Brake cable, ABS sensors, removed the aftermarket torsion bar keys and rear blocks, inspected and registered.
Total investmetn including shipping $4,500. I am still pleased...... On a side note, it drives like a dream and the 4.88's make first a nice granny gear. |
