Heard this on the radio coming home from work today and looked it up in the AJC.
30,000 people showed up for a chance to get in on 450 units of government subsidised housing. You got to at least scan this article. It's a real eye opener. I told my wife just imagine what would have happened if these people had no food, water or a place to go afterword. Article Link |

I caught a video of it on Foxnews, the city expected 10 thousand, so they brought in porta pottys.... and 30 thousand showed up... people passing out all over in the heat.
It appears that Fox DID NOT or HAS REMOVED the story on their website...hmmm. I spot checked Section 8 on Wiki... the renter usually pays only 30% of his rent - the Fed picks up the rest of the tab. |

But there will come a time when there are only two choices, and you MUST choose one. Cut spending, or start confiscating the vast majority of peoples' paycheck to give to people like those in Atlanta. THAT will really be when The SHTF. (I sincerely hope it never comes to that as it will be incredibly ugly) That will be when people have to remind lots of politicians that they work for us, not the other way around, and that they can be replaced. (And many of them should- Rangel, Pelosi, Schumer, Kerry, Feingold, McCain, just to name a few) |

30,000 entitlement-minded people in 100F weather. What could possibly go wrong? Like every major city, Atlanta is a time-bomb. The clock starts ticking the minute the gov-assistance stops being delivered. This is very true. If you look at the LA Riots in 1992 they ironically ended about the same time the Welfare Checks showed up and everyone had to stand in line at the Post Office to pick them up. |
|
A few years ago the exact same thing took place in Richmond Virgina when the local school board decided to give away Mac Laptops for 10 dollars. They expected to sell 50 and 5 thousand people showed up and it was a mad house. People were stomped on the ground. The hand out entitlement culture is about to hit the wall when the working culture starts to cut them off. |

you won't need that much ammo, after you drop the first 500 or 600 "leaders" in the front they should change direction pretty quick. |

I see the fallout from these parasites on a daily basis. I see the houses they leave behind - the neighborhoods they destroy, and the wealth that gets obliterated because they just can't be buggered to wipe up the dog piss, baby shit, and alcohol from the master bedrooms. Years of that. The only testimony that I find in the wretched husks left behind is the amazing building techniques and architecture that existed prior to 1970. That some of these houses can still stand after the years of abuse and neglect that the culture of entitlement heaps upon them. I walk through the debris left behind by these reapers of humanity and I think to myself... these lifeless husks of what used to be fit-for-human habitation dwellings are what our entire country will look like in 10 years. Just let the magic work. ETA: I may just be pissed right now because some welfare leeching scum sucking bottom dwelling asshole stole an AC unit off one of my properties last week. |
| My Father is 82 Years old. He grew up during the Great Depression. He says you all think you got it bad now. Wait till you miss a few meals. He said go two Weeks with out seeing a Dollar. Wait till the Government starts missing welfare and social security payments. My Mom was born in 1932. She lived on a farm. She said they only got meat on Sundays if Grandpa shot something while out hunting. She said everything else had to be sold to keep the kids clothed and a roof over their heads. We got a guy at work that owe's $22.000 on his credit cards. He basically does not own anything. If he misses a Weeks pay he is bankrupt. Everybody better look at their Money situation so you dont end up in these lines. |

When you see the same last names on the payroll list, from director to inspector, all driving new SUV's, shopping at the mall when they should be at work and the personal demands of those inspectors placed upon market rent properties that are forced by law to accept sec 8 vouchers. i have said it long ago and still today..in some areas(ATL for 100% im sure) will be like black hawk down. True but I do have to admit it'd leave an aweful lot of targets of opportunity. I think who ever said it'd look like somalia is absolutely correct it'd be bad, LEO, fed's, and Military are stretched too thin to make any real difference and secure much.... glad I dont live next to a mall or department store... But... still in the ghetto... hopefully I'll be out of here very very soon. |

I deal with it by staying the hell out of Atlanta. I live about 35 miles outside with BOL in the TN Mountains. |

More with this MSNBC video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOCNoMMJGSs&feature=player_embedded The reporter hit the nail on the head –– it was "a disgusting scene" (not in the way he meant, I'm sure). I am disgusted by the number of people with an entitlement mentality, and doubly disgusted by the behavior of many at this event. But he also pronounced the processs to be "undignified". News flash –– begging for a handout is always (and should be) undignified. I wonder how many businesses in that neighborhood had Help Wanted signs up, and how many applications they've received. |

Yep. For me, seeing the footage was just a confirmation of the density of zombies in the local population. And a reminder of what would happen in a heartbeat if stores stopped having food goods on their shelves or if power was turned off for more than a few days duration. I enjoy being in Georgia and will not leave but I have to get as far out of the perimeter as the commute will allow ASAP. IMO, That scene could easily play out in any major metro city in the country. Some people are just beyond pathetic. |

I gotcha covered the best I can... Good luck, man. And to you also. With a good amount of the other side needing to keep pulling up their pants while shooting sideways and standing in the open, well aimed shots behind cover should put them down quick enough. It could be like shooting targets at the fair booth. Except with no stuffed animals to win. |

I wouldnt want to be anywhere larger than here in the job field i have thats for sure. shame it has taken a major news event to wake people up to how bad the system really is. Crime is just the growing side issue. The you owes me way of thinking is what is really driving the problem to become a much bigger and volatile issue. That and many are almost rewarded for having it. Oh if i yell and scream or complain i get what i want......kinda how some treat kids.. kid crys/screams you shove a bottle at it...now it knows ot scream/cry to get what it wanted. |

Bullshit, around here if the market value is $700 renter may qualify to only pay $30. Wiki fucking lies as usual. Another weird thing - All government subsidized housing has to have A/C ![]() And it goes on and on. actaully........... SEC 8 vouchers vary from person to person. Doesnt matter what market rent is. The vouchers are also transferable. Meaning i could get one here, and move to ATL with it. Those on housing assistance per a program like sec 8 can live where ever. Meaning if you rent a place on smith street ( smith street apartments lets say) Even though you are paying market rent, that community must accept sec 8 vouchers as part of the income required to move in. Your neighbor may pay less with the gov picking up the rest. Those units rented must meet basic HUD requirements. Since smith street apts is all the same.Yes they have AC,heat and the same stuff you do. Even 100% HA run communities must follow HUD guidelines. Those on assitance also have yearly unit inspection by both the property and HA inspectors. Those units must be maintained again to basic HUD standard. This means your neighbor who may be on sec 8, can damage the unit, and the property will have to repair the unit per their contract with the local HA to HUD standard. The property can charge, notify the HA of the abuse and the voucher can be take away. The property however can not go with out doing the repairs or they are now in violation of HUD, their contract with the HA and possibly a fair housing suit. The HA will refuse to pay their share of the rent as well when inspections fail. The property can not "evict" the tenant when this happens, as again per their contract with the HA. Its a mess..and honestly, a pain in the ass to type about. as to what they pay, i have seen folks only get 100$ vouchers and others end up paying only 10$ a month on 800$ unit . The HA's also have vouchers for utilities, child care etc. Cable TV is also paid for via the utilities voucher/assitance. anyway.. you want horror stories that will make you go out on a street and protest....you let me know. Ive been working in this field for 5 years now......i miss conventional properties.... |

The worst part is that those 30k are the ones that aren't as lazy as the rest the number would have been more like 150k but most where probably to high or drunk to worry about it. Or they lived more then a mile from there so they didn't want to walk.
This should be a good eye opener why we need to prep. We need to have food and water and lots of ammo to keep these animals at bay when the Shit hits the fan. And it's not if but when.......I was talking to a friend about SHTF at a restaurant the other day and some liberal zombie was listening to our conversation. When he left he told his friend that people like them will never do what they say they will. I don't think they realize they are sheep.....it will be a Target rich environment..... |

After Hurricane Ike, some Beaumont, TX Rap station erroneously broadcast that FEMA was giving out the infamous "FEMA Cards" at the school in Sabine Pass, TX. Every welfare cheat in Beaumont lined up at the school at 4:30 am, half of them intoxicated. Most of the people that showed up wouldn't have gotten up at 4:30 am for a JOB, but would drive across the county for some of my money. The crowd refused even at first disregarded the LEO's warning to leave. I overheard people telling the LEO he was the "white devil" and "they weren't leaving until they got the FEMA cards." In reality, A Tai church had adopted the small community of Sabine Pass, TX and and was giving only the Sabine Pass residents (who actually had damaged homes) gift cards, and that wasn't until a closed meeting was held the next day........ |
