I read on Rawles' site that he had planned to make two sequals for Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Comings Collapse. One was due out in 2010 the other was due out in 2011. Just wondering if anyone here had heard any recent updates on their release. Can't seem to find anything on survivalblog.

i read that at least the next one was to take place during the same time line as the first and not really be a sequel so much as another tale of different survivors in a different A.O. during the same event...

on a side note rawles kinda fucked up the timeline in his own story by trying to updateing it with a few recent events(election of obama etc.). the story was written during and originally set in the late 90's iirc about 10 or so years after the characters were out of college, well some of the details got changed and some didn't when he rereleased it this most recent time and now the timeline and some of the details are all screwy and out of whack... additionally when updating maybe he should have updates some of the costs and availability of some of the gear he repeatidly mentions. a group on a budget(which in the story preaches frugality) preapring for shtf in todays time period would likely not be chooseing HK91s at todays prices of them, and D.I.A.S. are not legal now or then if non-NFA registered and they are not nearly as ILLEGALY easily obtainable now as they were then(not mail order as mentioned in the book anyway). and jesus don;t get me started on the expirimental ultra light planes being used as close air support with 5 stolen M-16s gerryrigged out of hte front seat of the plane but that's a whole seperate critique...

dispite having some major issues with the book i did still enjoy the read, and will read the next as well...

no idea on the ETA...

The first one was terrible, he certainly couldn't do any worse.  Communist cannibals from Denver...Jesus.  Everyone in Colorado knows our communist cannibals live in Boulder.

I read this too. I figured it would feature the Keane brothers. I was just curious about the ETA. One was supposed to be released in 2010 and since the year is over halfway done I figured he may have pushed it back. Just curious. My biggest gripe with the novel was the characters. No development whatsoever.
